Transgenders in the army

A judge has decided the military cannot extend past the deadline.

Personally, I think that Transgenders should be allowed to join.  And based on their baseline psychology should be allowed to serve where they are capable.

Having the military pick up the tab on gender re-assignment surgery and the effects from that is what they should end.

I personally think they should be disallowed. Transgenderism is technically classified as a mental disorder and I think because of that they should be denied just like schizophrenics etc.

It's called gender dysphoria.
And if it conflicted with their ability to perform I would agree, but they should have the chance to prove otherwise.

To be clear, the idea of bringing them in, giving them surgery so they are happy, and having the government pay for it did not make a lot of sense... but regardless, a person should have the chance regardless of any genderism.  Understanding as I do the mental capacity needed to perform under such, anyone with an inability to do such will be weeded out fast.

I do agree that its stupid to join the army and then have them pay for a sex change. Why the hell am I (taxpayers) paying for crap like that! One of the major reasons I disagree with them joining. That has NOTHING to do with medical needs in the performance of their duty.

Once someone had gender re-assignment surgery, they have to then live with hormone therapy for the rest of their lives.

Now... one interesting thing about that.  You go into a war zone and you can no longer be guaranteed to get that therapy.

So once they have the surgery, they should no longer be able to join for their own health.

You prove my original point. Stupid millennal mindset to allow them in.
